Visiting New York: The Guggenheim

We visited New York City in July 2017. We went there with friends and stayed in a house we rented near Central Park. This is the first time the kids were ever in New York, and so our schedule included the most popular attractions:
1. The Metropolitan Museum of Art
2. The Statue of Liberty
3. The American Museum of Natural History
4. The Guggenheim Museum
5. Intrepid Air, Sea and Space Museum
6. The Empire State Building
7. Broadway: School of Rock
I really like the Guggenheim. I love the building inside and out and I think their collection, even when it’s not that large, it’s just right. I also think it was the best art museum the kids have ever visited. The museum is very straight forward and all you have to do is follow a path; unlike other museums that are so big you have to choose areas to visit or you just can’t see it all in one day.
The museum was close to the place we were staying at in NYC, so we walked for 20 minutes to get there, which was not bad. Also, since the museum in itself does not require that much walking, we were ready to walk back with no problem after we saw it all.
To me, this is a must-visit attraction whenever you are in New York, especially for younger children, although I can see how people would object to my opinion.
cheers!
