Movie Review #TBT: Who Framed Roger Rabbit?
August 17, 2017
Then again, the movie is a little slow in parts and some parts can be scary.
We probably should have watched this movie sooner. We went to Disneyland last year and we got in the Roger Rabbit ride and the kids had no idea what was happening. They didn’t understand that part of the line’s decor was supposed to be Toon Town.
Then again, the movie is a little slow in parts and some parts can be scary.
I had tried to play it for them before but for some reason the title didn’t sound too appealing to them as I talked about the movie with them. It wasn’t until one day, when they were starting to wear their head gear, that I tricked them. If you know about head gears (and braces) you’d know they are supposed to wear it for one hour on day one and then two hours on the second day and so on until they spend every night with it. It’s not really meant to be worn during the day, but while they got used to it I had them watch a movie to pass the time.
So, while my daughter finished putting on her head gear I found Who Framed Roger Rabbit on Netflix. It was just perfect! I started playing the beginning of the movie (which is the cartoon with Roger Rabbit and baby Herman). My son was laughing out loud. Then my daughter joined him and we rewatched it with her. From there, they were hooked. I think more than the plot they were drawn to the different cartoon character that make cameo appearances (my son kept loosing it every time Mickey Mouse showed up… because, it’s Mickey!)
I did worry about sexy Jessica Rabbit a bit, but they didn’t take her character to be sexy, just pretty and mysterious. The one they were scared of was Judge Doom (not even after I told them it was the same actor who plays Dr. Emmett Brown).
It was still a good movie to watch with the kids and they enjoyed it.
cheers
Common Sense Media recommends this movie for children 12 and up.
