Movie Review: John Wick 2

We saw John Wick and loved it! When the sequel came out we couldn’t wait to see it. Unfortunately, there’s this little thing called life and we ended up watching it last night, streaming it from iTunes *sigh*.

This movie is very much like the first and almost starts right where the first one ended. I found it amusing that Keanu Reeves shared screen time with Peter Stormare (who he starred in Constantine) and Lawrence Fishburne (who he starred in The Matrix). I just love stuff like that. In fact, I was almost waiting for Fishburne to say, “Hello, Neo”. He didn’t.

John Wick is once more caught in an impossible situation that forces him to get out of retirement and start killing people like crazy. The action scenes are long and amazing and the choreographies and special effects are just too real. As with the first movie, John Wick is practically immortal… and we don’t care.

This is a violent action film that is just a wonderful ride to get on. I still liked the first one a little more, but my husband disagrees. Either way, we both agree Keanu is the bomb!
