Writing and Publishing: Werewolf Phenomenon on PreOrder TODAY
Today is the beginning of a new adventure; the day when Werewolf Phenomenon starts its reveal into the real world. Today, preorders start, making it visible in Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Kobo and iBooks. Google Play will come later.
Today, I wanted to write about my publishing strategy and how it has changed during the 15 months I have been a published author.
At first, there was Amazon’s KDP (Kindle Direct Publishing). No sales. Dead. Only family and friends cared. So, I researched… ah, first in the series could be free to gather an audience. Except, Amazon doesn’t do free.
Enter Pronoun. Pronoun offered free everywhere with the click of a button. I could make books free or not whenever I felt like it. It was glorious. Pronoun disappeared.
Researching, I found Draft2Digital to be my best choice. Drawback? No Google Play and no preorders for Amazon. Sad. Still, I thought it was the best choice. Good formatting platform, easy to handle. I liked it. Reports aren’t that great, though, but still.
Then, I joined a Facebook group that suggested AMS (Amazon Marketing Services). Apparently, if you’re serious about writing and SELLING your books, you have to pay for some marketing. AMS seems like the best choice. Except, if you publish to Amazon through Draft2Digital, you can’t use it.
So, I took The Recruit (part 1) off Amazon through D2D and went back to KDP. Oh no! It’s not free anymore. Which means, no more downloads. I keep trying to make Amazon to turn it into a free book, but after a week, still unsuccessful. Will keep trying.
In the mean time, both The Recruit and Werewolf Phenomenon are on KDP and Draft2Digital for everything else. Good.
Enter Google Play. I applied through Google; no response. Enter Publish Drive. I published The Recruit in Google Play and soon Werewolf Phenomenon.
Bottom line, Werewolf Phenomenon will be available for preorder starting today and on June 15th it will go wide!
AMS will come later… stay tuned!
cheers!
