Writing and Publishing: The Fate of A Few Drops of Fantasy

“A Few Drops of Fantasy” was released wide through Pronoun back in July, 2017. When Pronoun went out of business, the collection of short stories moved to Draft2Digital.

I decided that I couldn’t offer everything I wrote for free. My stories have value. Not only that, they are GOOD. They are worth reading. I am proud of these stories. They all came from my experiences in the real world. Not only that, they helped me harness my abilities as a writer.

Once all my family and friends had bought the book, sales plummeted. And I know why. Who would buy a book from a total unknown.

So, after almost a year, I have decided to pull the digital edition of “A Few Drops of Fantasy” from the market. Instead, I will publish the individual short stories through Kindle Unlimited.

I will spend money on covers and that will be my only expense before publishing them. After, I will use KU marketing strategies while writing awesome blurbs. I will publish them starting July 2017, a year after the collection’s initial publication.

I will use June and July to create covers, blurbs and do a final edit before I release them one by one in Kindle Unlimited.

Here is the release date:

“Rivals” – July 15th, 2018
“Why Can’t I Be Here?” – August 1st, 2018
“Magma Girl” – August 15th, 2018
“Vocation” – September 1st, 2018

This will also phase to Kindle Unlimited’s marketing windows in a way they will be easy to handle.

Well, that’s my plan so far.

And what of the paperback? I will update a reviewed edition which will be available as soon as I finish readying the individual stories.

What do you think?

cheers!
