Writing and Publishing: Book Promotion with AskDavid

AskDavid.Com is a book promotion website.

As always, I start looking for ways to advertise my books, and in doing so, I found about this website.

It is a little expensive, and the return of investment is a little iffy, but I still gave it a chance.

Basically what this website does is make you pay a fee of $15 every six months, and that entitles you to promote all the books you want (as long as they are yours).

I thought since I would be relaunching A Few Drops of Fantasy and four of its stories individually on Kindle Select, it would be worth the $15 for the rest of 2018.

One thing I like about this website is the way you list your books is by describing it with your own human words (not a copy/paste of a blurb). It prompts you to talk about how your book came to be, what it means to you, and what it could mean to your potential readers. That part alone, is a big plus for me.

Your account then creates a special author page for you where your books are displayed. Oh, and did I mention they need to be published on Amazon?

Also, whenever you pay your $15 you get 25 tweets you can use (and customize yourself) to send from their twitter account (@book_tribe) which has 59K followers. Each time you submit a book, you get some extra tweets, as well. The only thing I can say about these tweets is that you still need to find time to set them up. It’s not that automatic. Although, if you sit down one day, you could schedule a bunch for days in advance (they are available for a year to you) and use them in your special discount or free days or deals or whatnot.

It sounded good to me.

Like I said, it does have some perks and I really like the idea of being able to submit ALL of your books for one flat price. I guess if you only have one or two titles it may not be worth it, but I will have seven at the end of September and I think it’ll be worth it. Don’t you?

Cheers!
