Visiting San Diego: Sea World
We visited San Diego during the summer with family and we got to experience 7 of their tourist attractions:
1. San Diego Natural History Museum
2. Sea World
3. USS Midway
4. San Diego Zoo
5. Legoland
6. San Diego Air and Space Museum
7. Museum of Man
Visiting Sea World was one of the best experiences of this trip for me. I went there with very low expectations. In my life, I have visited all three Sea Worlds. Our last visit to a Sea World, before going to San Diego, had been to the San Antonio park about four years ago. The children were much younger and San Antonio was very hot. Our experience was not very good at all. I remember the sea lions didn’t follow instructions in the sea lion show, the park was very small and didn’t have much to see. We finished the park in about four hours and spend a few minutes in the playground area before calling it a day.
I had also read horrible reviews about Sea World online. On top of that, the Lyft driver told us the Sea World in San Diego wasn’t worth the price of admission.
Boy, was every one wrong!
I had a great time! The park wasn’t at all full (perhaps due to all those bad reviews), so we could get into every show even if we were there late (we were late to the sea lion show). The park was pretty and clean. It reminded me of Disney World, it had that welcoming feeling to me.
Apart from several animal exhibits, we got into the three main shows: orcas, dolphins and sea lions. They were all amazing and the kids loved them. We ate near the orca show where I had a salmon plate. The salmon was fresh and just cooked and it came with a side of veggies and rice, which was a great replacement to the usual burger and fries you get at parks. The weather was cool and sunny, which made it just right enough to venture into the water rides. The kids got on the river rapids ride and then my daughter and I rode the Manta, which is a fast roller coaster which I thought was amazing.
There is also a section with kid rides which we visited briefly. Over all, we had an amazing time in a park that wasn’t at all crowded, great weather and wonderful experiences. We would definitely come back.
