Visiting San Diego: Air and Space Museum

We visited San Diego during the summer with family and we got to experience 7 of their tourist attractions:

1. San Diego Natural History Museum
2. Sea World
3. USS Midway
4. San Diego Zoo
5. Legoland
6. San Diego Air and Space Museum
7. Museum of Man

This museum is one of the 17 museums in San Diego’s Balboa Park. To be honest, I had very little interest in attending because we had already been to the USS Midway, where I got to see planes, and all this museum had was planes. It was also expensive considering the fact we got there about 1.5hours before closing time. But my father-in-law wanted to go and since that was the last day we had with them, we went with it.

The museum is pretty nice. There are, indeed, many airplanes. There are airplanes top to bottom, literally. It also has a 4D theater where they showed a few movies. I saw one about a toy store (yes, I was inside the Air and Space Museum) and noticed that many of the guests had been sitting in the theater for a while, just watching movies. In fact, when I left the attendant asked me if I was ok.

There is also a small kid section where kids can play with a few things (mostly physics, not planes).

My kids enjoyed that part. At the end of the museum and before the gift shop, they had the same simulator they had at the USS Midway. My husband rode it with his dad. By the time I got there with the kids it was already closed, along with the museum. It was already 5pm.

If you like airplanes, you’ll have an awesome time!

cheers!
