Videogame Review: Breath of the Wild DLC 2

I bought the DLC package back in November, so I didn’t need to wait long for the second part to be released… and thank goodness. I didn’t think Part 1 was great at all, especially with that very hard Trial of the Sword. I was a little disappointed. But, wow, did part 2 came through. It is AMAZING!
The main thing in DLC Part 2 is the Champions’ Ballad, which is an amazing side quest that will reward you with Link’s motorcycle.
The quest was so much fun. You begin in the Shrine of Resurrection, where you get a very interesting weapon that lets you kill enemies with one hit, but which lets you dies with just one hit. Basically, once you touch the weapon (looks like a trident of sorts) all of your hearts go down to 1/2 heart and no matter how much you eat, your HP will remain in 1/2 heart.
You first need to clear the area of monsters in four spots in the Great Pleateau using this weapon. Once you finish killing all monsters a new Shrine will pop out of the ground (offering a new warp point, too!). Once you clear all four spots (and shrines) you go back to the Shrine of Resurrection which will activate four points in the map. Once you visit each point, a monument pops up with three pictures (each with a challenge) where a new shrine will appear. The pictures are of a spot in the map. Gladly, I knew the map pretty well to be able to identify these spots without much difficulty.
When you complete each of the three shrines per monument, you must visit that area’s Divine Beast. You re-enter the Divine Beast with the assigned armor and weapons (all others disappear). You must defeat Gannon again there (same battle, mostly). Defeating it again will give you each Champion ability more frequently (it will reactivate in about 4 minutes).
This quest was a lot of fun. It provided 16 extra shrines and 4 extra spirit orbs (you don’t get spirit orbs with the challenge shrines, instead you get a special orb needed to reenter each Divine Beast.
Once you’re done with all of that you go back to the Shrine of Resurrection where you are allowed into the hidden underground dungeon. Then, after defeating the monk at the end, you get Link’s bike.
Pretty amazing, right?
Now, apart from all the extra playtime, you get a bunch of wonderful memories from the Champions, including a fifth one where they are all together (with some pretty awesome music from Link to the Past).
That’s the main thing in this DLC.
It also has some additional armor you get the same way you did in DLC Part 1, by visiting stables and getting descriptions on where to go look. Here’s a list of the armor you can find:
-Phantom Ganon armor
-Ancient Horse gear
-Royal Guard gear
-Island Lobster shirt
-Ravio’s Hood
-Zant’s Helmet
Still, the best thing was the Champions’ Ballad quest. It was amazing!
cheers!
