Spinning Class Failure

A new public aquatic center opened in my city. We became members mostly because it has an indoor pool (and it is not that expensive). The center also has a small gym, with some equipment, a basketball court and an indoor track. Also, they offer classes. It’s not a big place, so they only have two classrooms, one for the spinning class (which they call Cycle) and another one for all the other classes (Zumba, Barre, Pilates, etc..).
It opened on March 1st and so far it hasn’t been as crowded as I thought it would be.
Anyway, after two weeks of inactivity (due to Spring Break and my friends’ Spring Break) I decided to give the Cycle class a chance. My sister-in-law had told me about it and how awesome she was and I had never been to a class. I’ve joined gyms with Spinning classes before but I had never actually showed up to one.
That finally changed.
The classroom is medium sized and the class uses the Spivi system. There’s an app for it and signing up lets you join the class, choose a bike and track your burned calories and RPMs. It didn’t work well for some people, but it worked for me. I chose bike #34 and let the instructor know this was my first time – she was kind enough to give me a bottled water, since I’d forgotten mine in the care. Oops.
The class started and I pedaled away. The class it’s pretty simple. You go faster and slower and then sometimes you get off the seat and pedal some more. Well, about 20 minutes in and while off the seat, my leg just didn’t support me and I fell of the bike! Yes! Completely embarrassing. Or so I thought, since I believe only the lady beside me noticed. I was on the last row.
The pedals also have this protective chain around it to keep your feet in place. Too bad I didn’t want to keep my feet in place, I wanted off the bike! So down I want scratching my left knee so bad it even tore through my pants!

Look at my knee!!
It happens, I guess.
At least I tried. Oh, and even with the pain I managed to finish the class! Now I will have to let my knee heal before trying it again.
