Show Review: Potted Potter
We heard about this show when we went to the symphony one time. I researched what it was about, convinced my husband to go and bought tickets. My mom was in town and she got to enjoy it, too.
The show is mainly two guys (who sound British – and probably are) who more or less narrate a summary of the Harry Potter books without breaking any copyright laws.
In the show, one is the Harry Potter expert and the other hasn’t read the books at all (and he “reads” them during the show). They use cheap props to tell the story, which only made me laugh even more, as they move from character to character and scene to scene.
The try to keep the show fun and even orchestrate a Quidditch game with the audience in the form of a beach ball the audience moves around over their heads wanting to get it to a trio of hoops on the walls on each side of the seats.
I highly recommend it. It made us laugh a lot. My husband said it was better than he expected because it was more like a stand-up comedy show than a show about Harry Potter. It had both. It was also kid friendly and my 9 and 11 year old really enjoyed it. I think younger kids were there, too!
cheers!
