Recipe: Banana Chocolate Bread
March 21, 2017
I try to buy bananas every week. My kids and I love bananas. I buy them still green on the edges because I know they will be nice and yummy for a few days. Unfortunately, they go ripe and soften if we forget they are there.
Several times I’ve tried to rescue the bananas in different ways.
We have frozen them and then add chocolate syrup as a desert – but, no one really eats them and they just take freezer space… also, I’m not a fan of the fridge flavor.
I have oatmeal banana cupcake once, with yogurt. Total failure! I used PAM and everybody hated that flavor. 🙁
I’ve made banana nut bread, but my son hates nuts, so no one ate it, either. Plus, the recipe I used wasn’t very good. The bread was hard on the inside o_o
And so finally, yesterday I made a banana chocolate bread. I had a craving for chocolate and bought dark chocolate chocolate chips and it was glorious! Everyone liked it – except my husband who thought it was very sweet.
I loved it. I will definitely be making this recipe again once I get those ripe bananas about to go bad.
I found the recipe on Facebook (because FB is good for recipes, sometimes).
You can find it here.
Ingredients
- 3 ripe bananas
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 1/2 cup sugar
-
1 large egg, lightly beatenCoupons
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp baking soda
- pinch of salt
- 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
Now, I didn’t buy the mini chocolate chips, which was a mistake. When I finish they ones I bought I will be buying the minis. Also, I bought the dark chocolate chips.
Chocolate makes me happy. Also, according to MyFitnessPal it is 106 calories a slice (considering you get 8 slices). Not bad for a yummy breakfast!
