Our Visit to Adventure Landing
February 8, 2017
When I was younger, we would go to a mini-golf place with my dad. We didn’t go very often, but boy, did we love it. I think it’s because of this that I am attracted to mini-golfs. Whenever I moved here, I looked for mini-golfs, as well. I couldn’t believe that in a city as big as this one there weren’t any. It took me a while to find them, and it became easier once smart phones came into our lived, and Adventure Landing was one of the first ones I tried.
Adventure Landing would have been my paradise if I had grown up here.
It has several things to do: mini-golf, go-karts, bumper boats, laser tag, and the arcade. For this trip, I had purchased a Memorial Day special which consisted of 10 rides for $30. Most rides are about $8 each, although they have many specials.
If you want to play laser tag, Adventure Landing is NOT the way to go. It’s very small and the vests don’t really work (and I don’t think the guns all work either). If you want to play Laser Tag, I would go to Main Event. I like that one. It’s two stories.
I’m also not a fan of Adventure Landing’s Arcade. There’s something about it. I have played there, don’t get me wrong. But when I go, it’s not the place I want to spend my time in. True, it has A/C and that’s a plus, but by the time I’m done with the outdoor activities I want to go home.
A few years, ago, Adventure Landing opened the Bumper Boats:
Bumper Boats is basically Bumper Cars but in the water. They also have the feature of having a squirt gun attached to your boat. So for a hot summer day, it’s pretty fun. The pool is big enough to let about 8 people in there at the same time. Bumper Boats require riders to be at leas 44” and once they reach that height, they can ride on their own. Not the same can be said for the Go-Karts.
We got there early, so our first ride was only for us. Oh, and by the way, remember it’s pretty hot in July, so if you wake up and it’s cloudy (like it was for us), go for it!
Next, we went to play mini-golf:
We had three courses to choose from. We played 1 and 2. The mini-golf is themed like the jungle. the animals aren’t well maintained and the greens usually have sticks, leaves and other debris, but it’s ok. It’s part of the experience. As you can see from the picture above, it does have some trees, which allows for some shade. The courses are not very complicated and they don’t have any cute props in them, but we always have a lot of fun.
Now, the Go-Karts aren’t for little kids. Sure, you can ride if you’re 40” tall, but only with an adult. Both my kids are under the 56” height to ride alone, so we can’t do Go-Karts unless my husband goes with us. Now, they also have a kiddie go-kart track. It’s really just a loop, it’s not as exciting as the adult go-karts, but at least they can ride alone when they’re 40”. They took a turn on that one, too.
And that was our cloudy trip to Adventure Landing!
cheers!
