Movie Reviews #TBT: Avatar
July 20, 2017
I remember watching the movie Avatar and thinking how awesome it was, but I never really saw it again. Ever. So even when I had fun the first time, that was it. There was nothing in it that made me want to watch it again like other James Cameron’s films like T2, Abyss, Aliens or True Lies.
We watched Avatar with the kids mainly because there is the new Avatarland in Animal Kingdom and since we’re visiting soon, we wanted the kids to have some context.

It turned out to be the only James Cameron film the kids are actually able to see at their age, since the others are either too violent or scary or both.
The kids had their doubts, but once they saw those avatars and began to understand what was going on and then watching all the new flora and fauna of Pandora, they were hooked. They now know what a banshee is and can’t wait to ride one at WDW. They also want to buy one of those currently-sold-out banshees, but they will have to save for that one because I don’t think I’m spending $50 on those.
Avatar is an action packed movie with some foul language, but otherwise the kids loved everythign about it. Now whenever they think Avatar they don’t always think Avatar: The Last Airbender, which, is you haven’t watched, you are seriously missing out.
