Movie Review: Wonder Woman
August 26, 2017
And so we went to see Wonder Woman.
We actually went a little late and when we did, we did not take the kids. Mostly because they didn’t look very interested. Perhaps they will see it once it’s available for rent.
I know this review is long overdue, and I may get some heat over what I’m going to say… I didn’t think it was a great movie. I heard great things and wonderful reviews from both critics and friends, and while it was entertaining and fun to watch, I don’t think it was better than other superhero movies. For instance, I like Guardians of the Galaxy and the first Avengers movie better.
I must also confess I am not a Wonder Woman fan from the comic books. I grew up being an X-Men (and family) fan. Later I moved to other comic book companies, like Image or Top Cow. Now, as an adult, I rarely read any Marvel; instead I like Batman. I have read Wonder Woman through Batman or the Batman/Superman comic books. That’s all. I know a few things about her, but reading her stand alone comic book? I’ve never been interested.
I know the comic book and the movie are different things and I’m not saying I disliked the movie, I’m just saying it was a well rounded action movie with fun elements… I really enjoyed it, but that was all.
Please don’t hate me. I’m still a geek and I would go see it again if someone took me because… well, superpowers!
cheers!
