Movie Review #TBT: Jaws

Another movie by Steven Spielberg. 

I confess we thought about showing this one to the kids a lot, but our son is into scary movies (not that scary) and sharks, so we gave it a chance.

Like most Steven Spielberg’s movies, you can’t stop watching. The shark scenes are amazing. You get scared and nervous even when you can’t really see the shark – until the end. 

There is the one scene at the beginning when the teenagers are at the beach the first night and shows a little more skin than we recommend for our children, so we just skipped that part. Apart from that, the children enjoyed the movie and they weren’t really that scared – although I must mention they have seen the Jurassic Park movies and I guess it compares to the level of gore.

Common Sense Media recommends this movie for children 13 and up.
