Movie Review: Star Trek Beyond
March 1, 2017
What an awesome movie!!! What a great soundtrack!!! It kept me in the edge of my seat all the time. Even the slow parts were entertaining. Also, it wasn’t just all about Kirk. I mean, sure, he’s still the one, but I thought all of the characters had a real important role in this one. It hurt watching Anton Yelchin in the part because he was fantastic and knowing he is gone and we won’t see Chekov again kinda makes me sad 🙁 but it is a great last film for him!
I also loved the character Jayla. The character was beautiful, and I don’t just mean physically. She was amazing in every way. Totally centered and down to Earth and just… real. I really enjoyed watching her.
Since I had not read anything about this movie, I had no idea Idris Elba was in it. That was a nice surprise. The way they got Leonard Nimoy’s passing into the movie was also regal. And even when I had heard all those people complain (include George Takei himself) about Zulu being gay, I thought it was very well shown on screen. He was a parent, who seemed to have a loving husband and a solid family. I wonder why he was so criticized.
This was a great movie. One I would definitely see again.
cheers!
