Movie Review: Split
May 12, 2017
I have seen all of M. Night Shyamalan movies except for Devil – I do plan on watching it one day, and I have to say that I haven’t disliked any of them. I do agree with most people that Sixth Sense is the best one, but the others have given me at least a sense of suspense I enjoy without being scary.
Last night we saw Split on the AppleTV. It’s hard to go to the movies with the kids (I’m not complaining, at least we can go see some movies now), so adult movies we watch whenever they become available for rent, most of the time.
We really enjoyed Split, which we had been waiting now for quite a while. I am a fan of James McAvoy and in this movie, he passed my expectations of him. It was amazing to watch him change from one personality to the other. The movie also starred Anya Talor-Joy, who my husband immediately recognized as the girl from The Witch. I don’t remember her from anything, but I will now remember her from Split.
Mr. Shyamalan is known for his movies’ surprise plots, and this one didn’t disappoint. The worst part was probably that abduction scene. I am always freaked out by situations that may actually happen in real life, and the way it was shown looked totally plausible.
I also enjoyed the cameo in the end. đŸ˜‰
I don’t know where he’ll go with the sequel he announced, but I am sure I will be there to watch it.
cheers!
