Movie Review: Solo
We went to see Solo.
I was a little reluctant because I knew the first guys making it got fired and then they brought in Ron Howard and he didn’t seem the type of director to do a movie like this, but good, anyway, but- you get my gist.
Also, it seems to me Disney is now forcing out Star Wars storylines everywhere just to make a buck. That wasn’t very inspiring.
Nevertheless, it is Star Wars, and as the fans we are, we purchased our tickets, bought out special Solo metallic popcorn buckets at the theater and waited for the movie to start.
It’s not a work of art, I admit. I still had a lot of fun, though.
I know people are going to complain about a bunch of things, but I’m not.
It was entertaining to watch the little things about how Han Solo came to be (even when how he became Solo was a bit stupid). The story has some great actors, too, like Woody Harrelson, Thandie Newton, Donald Glover, Emilia Clarke, Paul Bettany, and even Warwick Davis (and he had a spoken line!).
The actor who plays Han Solo did look like he was trying to hard to do whatever magic Harrison Ford does (which is a challenge, I admit), but he was okay, anyway. I still liked him enough and didn’t feel anything negative toward him, which was good enough for me.
Overall, my family and I had a great time at the movies. We were happy to have gone and enjoyed ourselves. I do recommend it, just don’t be expecting a masterpiece. Instead, think of it as a fun sci-fi movie about a character you already know.
cheers!
