Movie Review: Leap!

My ten year old daughter really wanted to watch this movie. So, we did.

I am a ballet dancer, and by that I mean I took classes since I was three years old until I was 27. Even when I’m not a professional dancer, I got to be fairly good at it and know about it more than the average person.

The movie is not extraordinary, but what it does have are very unrealistic moments.

One after the other, the movie offers impossible scenarios, and not only about dancing.

I understand the movie needs to move fast and it’s a kids’ movie, but come on! One does not get in physical shape, learns all techniques and becomes a professional dancer when you are eleven years old in a few weeks. It just doesn’t happen.

Maybe it shouldn’t bother me that much, but it did.

Either way, the movie was cute and even with all those impossible scenarios (like a rich woman trying to assassinate an 11 year old), the kids had fun.
