Movie Review: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

This Friday we went to see Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.
We pre-bought out tickets for the 3:35pm show, so we picked up the kids from school at 3pm and drove directly to the movie theater. We had tickets to the XD Luxury Lounger RealD 3D show – because there are so many option on how to watch a movie right now, gee!
The movie is rated PG-13, but out kids enjoyed the movie very much, laughing out loud on several scenes. Baby Groot stole the show, especially for the kids. Cute and Funny. There were several parts of the movie that I thought were a little inappropriate for children, but we have talked about language in movie dialogue with them and hopefully they’ll survive. We also always talk at the end about the characters and how they changed and if the kids think they were good or bad. I think that helps them understand better what the messages of movies are.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 had a lot of action, too, and there was never a dull moment.
In my opinion Vol. 1 was better, but Vol. 2 did not disappoint.
Also, make sure to stay in your seat until the very last end credit line because the movie has 5 after credit scenes (the one with Groot being my personal favorite).
We hadn’t gone to the movies as a family often, the last movie we saw together in the movie theater was Lego Batman. In this day and age watching the movies from a digital download from home is easy, convenient and cheaper, but it was definitely worth going to the movie theater for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.
cheers!
