Movie Review: Cloverfield

Since the new Cloverfield movie came out on Netflix the day of the Super Bowl, my husband and I have been very curious. We had heard of Cloverfield, of course, but we hadn’t watched it because we’d heard about the shaky cam and my husband is not a fan of shaky cam movies. We did, however, watched 10 Cloverfield Lane and loved it! I totally had no idea what was happening and that ending was amazing.
Since every time we open Netlix a big advertisement for the new Cloverfield movie pops up, we decided we should watch it and we didn’t want to do it without watching the original movie first.
And so, we did.
I was totally surprised. In a good way. Yes, there is the shaky cam issue, but the way it’s told is just amazing. It is creepy and scary and awesome at the same time. Also, I had heard we didn’t get a good look at the monster, but we did. We got plenty of monster.
It is also a short movie and we sat down one night, watched it and enjoyed every single part of it.
Now we can’t wait to watch the new Cloverfield: Paradox.
cheers!
