Graphic Novel Review: I Hate Fairyland (Vol. 1)

I have to say, this comic book is WEIRD.

The art is amazing and the imagination that went into every page is out of this world. The character has no boundaries, regrets or morals. There is a lot of blood and mutilation and death and yet… it’s funny. It’s entertaining. You want to see what else the writer and illustrator will concoct together.

I finished the first volume (which contains issues #1-5) and picked up the second one just because I wanted to know what else was in store for the little girl who is stuck in a fantasy world for almost thirty years without aging (except in her head).

It is a dark fantasy/dark comedy book, and I recommend it just to see what they do and where they go and who and how the next character is going to find its demise.

cheers!
