Food: Finding Good Chorizo in North Texas

I like chorizo.

Unfortunately, not all chorizo in the area is good chorizo. When I go to Kroger and Walmart they do sell chorizo (both beef and pork), but it’s very greasy and not as tasty as the chorizo we can find in Mexico.

Fortunately, in North Texas there is this chain “La Michoacana” which sells chorizo and many other Mexican products. When I get a craving for conchas or Mexican candy, this is the way to go. The bolillo is excellent, too! The store closes to us is about 15 minutes away. It’s not far, but it’s at least a half an hour trip.

I do go often, probably once or twice a month, and when I go, I buy a LOT of chorizo.

Then, I freeze it! This way, I can use it once, twice or even three times a week and it’s there for me. I’m so lucky to be close to good chorizo!
