Disney Cruise Alaska Review: Day 8 – Debarkation Day
August 28, 2019
Welcome to my last post of these series of nine Wednesday when I describe my experiences on the Disney Cruise to Alaska.
It’s been fun narrating what I could remember while it was fresh on my mind and writing about what I enjoyed and didn’t enjoy about the Disney Cruise.
For this last blog post, I will talk about Debarkation day.
We go the instructions about what would happen on debarkation day during our last day at sea:
The day before, we got our tags and we had placed our bags outside the room. On debarkation day, all we needed to do was go out of the room with our carry-on (which included our pajamas and toiletries) and go to breakfast.
We had two choices. We could either visite the buffet or we could go to Triton’s for our last meal.
We didn’t go to Triton’s because they assign a time depending on your dinner time (1st or 2nd seating), and we would have missed our shuttled if we stayed for the second seating breakfast.
After breakfast, we all gathered on Deck 3 ready to say goodbye to the Disney Wonder.
The first group the call are the guests who have their luggage with them.
After that, they began calling guests by the Disney character on their bag.
It wasn’t a big deal getting off the ship. All you had to do was scan your Key to the World and that was about it. You followed the crowd to the baggage claim area and then continued to customs and immigration. Then to your way to transport (car, shuttle, taxi, etc.)
I think I was nervous, but it was really an easy and straight-forward process. It does get rather crowded on Deck 3 and our ship was about half an hour late to start the debarkation process, but once you get off the ship it’s easy as pie.
This concludes my series of blog posts about my adventures on the Disney Wonder.
I hope it was useful to those first-timers, like me, or to the veterans out there.
I would like to go back, although next time, I’d like to try something warmer and less days. I would much rather spend my money in Walt Disney World, but the cruise has its charmed, and I would like to do it again one day.
Cheers!
