Disney Cruise Alaska Review: Day 3 – Dawes Glacier

Hello, and welcome to the fourth post on my Disney Cruise series!
Today I will talk about our experiences on the third day on board the Disney Wonder.
THE GLACIER
It’s basically another day at sea, but we visited the Dawes Glacier at Endicott Arm, in Alaska.

This was our first rainy day on the cruise. It drizzled for most of our Glacier sightseeing, and it was pretty cold, too. I think we reached 40F that day. My ski jacket came handy, for sure!

We reached the glacier in the afternoon (at about 2 p.m.), but we started seeing ice floaters since noon.

We watched a movie (Incredibles 2) to pass the time before going out to see the glacier and a few sea lions, too!

Those are sea lions on that ice!

I really enjoyed being outdoors and looking for sea lions. The Disney Wonder has protected spots on Deck 10 for the passengers. They have a roof and three glass walls to protect from the wind and rain. It was nice. By the time we got to the glacier, we were too cold and wet (and Deck 10 was very crowded), so we went down to Deck 3 (which was mostly empty) and sat down to look at the view from a comfortable chair.

FROZEN

That night was Frozen night.

When I went to the atrium early that morning, the Frozen decorations were up!

Frozen decorated the atrium.

Everything was frozen. Literally, LOL. The glacier, and the decorations, and the show, and the party. Everything was Frozen-themed.

The show that evening was… you guessed it: Frozen, the musical. It was impressive. I was impressed by everything, and I must say the guy playing Kristof stole the show. At least for me. And that scene with the wolves? Wonderful! You should have seen it! Of course, they made it snow on the theater! And they gave us a snowflake necklace that lit up. It was waiting for us in our room before the show, sometimes after lunch.
My snowflake necklace. It lit up!
After the Broadway-type musical (which was amazing, did I mention that already?) we all went up to Deck 9 for the Frozen party. It did not disappoint. We all sang Let It Go and then they made it snow again and there were Anna and Elsa and Kristof and Olaf. It was just great. We all loved it! Some people dressed up, too! We saw grown-up Elsas and Annas, not just little ones! A family wore Olaf onesies which I thought was adorable. It was cold, but we rocked it!

After the party, we went to dinner. And yes, it was Frozen-themed, too!

It was one of my favorite days on the Disney Wonder.
