Book Review: Dead Until Dark (Sookie Stackhouse Book #1)
August 22, 2020

I really enjoyed this book.
I have only watched about two or three episodes of the series—back when it came out—and I had no idea that the book started just like the series. Now I really want to watch the series. It was also a murder mystery and I always enjoy a mystery.
The pacing was well done and I didn’t find myself wanting to skip parts.
The vampires, to tell the truth, were a little creepy. The rules about what it means to be a vampire were mostly explained, but I still had a few questions. Especially about what they were doing or how they hid when they weren’t “legal”, but I liked that they still still had their own minds intact, or most of them did.
The story did have quite a few characters, and sometimes I couldn’t remember who someone was, but it wasn’t anything that distracted from the story.
This is a really good book and I’m glad it got made into a series, can’t wait to watch it.
Cheers!
