Book Review: Ink and Bone (The Great Library Part 1)
November 4, 2017
I now know what the ultimate goal is going to be and it’s going to be a ride. I plan on finishing this series and I have high hopes. I think there’s just the final part left to be published, but I might be wrong.
The story of how I decided to read Ink and Bone is out of the ordinary. Our public library put up posters about an author coming visit. It was Rachael Caine, the author of Ink and Bone. My daughter is going into 5th grade and since the event was aimed for 6th to 12th graders I signed her up anyway. Fortunately they let her in. Not just her, they let everybody in once we were there. Too bad, because my husband had read her Ink and Bones books and wanted to attend and was disappointed to hear it was just for grades 6th to 12th. I had my eight year old with me that day and he wasn’t interested in the least to go in a room where an author details event of her life (because he’s eight), so I had to skip it being forced to stay with him outside. *Deep breaths*
It turned out to be a great experience for my 10 year old, who also won the Ink and Bone paperback while being there (a lot of people won books, too). She even got her picture taken with her:
This is how I learned of the existence of Rachael Caine and her Great Library series.
Since my husband had all of the books from the series in the Kindle I decided the next book I read would be Ink and Bone.
The book did not disappoint. It was well written and I could never tell what was going to happen next. I confess it was a little frustrating not knowing what the actual point of the series would be, but the small goals were enough to keep me reading and find out more.
I now know what the ultimate goal is going to be and it’s going to be a ride. I plan on finishing this series and I have high hopes. I think there’s just the final part left to be published, but I might be wrong.
In the meantime, I recommend Ink and Bone!
cheers!
