Book Review: A Darker Shade of Magic

What an amazing book!
I’d heard so much about this book I took it from the shelve immediately when I saw it at Barnes and Noble. I was not disappointed. It was much more than I expected. The worlds were new and imaginative and the rules were just enough to make magic useful if you knew how to use it.
The prose was smooth and it flowed as I read and the dialogue between the characters was funny and witty. V.E. Schwab made you LIKE her characters. You wanted them to keep talking to each other and exchanging ideas just to see what they would do or say.
The story was fast-paced and filled with adventure. I will definitely be reading more of her books. What a great discovery!
A definite five stars.
