Book Review: And Then There Were None
February 25, 2017
I had heard about Agatha Christie being an awesome mystery writer. I had never read one of her books (shame on me!), but I did see the 1982 picture “Evil Under the Sun” when I was young and I absolutely loved it! I, in fact, watched it again with my husband last year because he’d never seen it, and he loved it, too!
I am still to read that book, but I am glad my first one was “And Then There Were None”.
I found it at Barnes and Noble (yes, there I was again) on a table with “classics” or “must reads”. I knew who Agatha Christie was and I picked up her book and bought it. There it rested on my night table for a few days until I read the title again on one of those Facebook posts that list books you “must read”. I do feel ashamed for waiting for Facebook to tell me to read it, by the way.
I went through the book fast and every time I went to bed I would think it would be ME who was next! I would look at my bedroom door thinking I would see the shadow of the murderer waiting to do me in, too!
I highly recommend this book.
After my husband read it we watched the BBC miniseries that came out last year. It was great, really, except for the ending. I remember that one of my favorite parts from “Evil Under the Sun” was when they explained how the crime had been done. In the 2015 miniseries the murderer quickly explains how he did part of it, but not ALL of it. We were a little disappointed.
But the book didn’t disappoint! It is, indeed, a MUST READ!
cheers!
