Book and Movie Review: The Help
March 9, 2017
What an amazing book and movie!
It was a great read about how black people were treated back in the 60s. How people are racist even if they think they aren’t. How people are mean even if they think they aren’t. It’s a book about doing the right thing even if it’s dangerous; even if you go against what the rest of society thinks it’s right.
Kind of like it’s happening now with other issues.
It was a beautifully written story about women, about different kinds of women with different thoughts and feelings and priorities. It was about LIFE and how beautiful and how hard it is at the same time. It is about being different and misunderstood and trapped and not giving up.
It is about hope.
It is wonderful.
And the movie, even with the little changes they made, it’s still a very good adaptation of the source material with a phenomenal casting.
cheers!
